The Board of UArctic has stressed the need to increase capacity for finance and activity reporting across the UArctic network. The new office will be established at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, under the responsibility of the Vice-President Administration. Details of the office's tasks and responsibilities will be announced after the agreement is concluded between the University of the Arctic and the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Pat Pitney and David Read of the University of Alaska Fairbanks met with President Lars Kullerud and the UArctic International Secretariat this week (Nov 30 - Dec 2, 2010) in Levi, Finland to plan the establishment of a UArctic Finance Office.
