The first day of the Conference offers high level speeches and panels on the role of economic development and the role of Arctic science. A panel of active young Arctic people wraps this up. On the second day, we focus on People in the Arctic by themes such as Arctic identity, indigenous peoples and the media, the role of Arctic cities, well-being among young people, different modes of land use, bio-economy and education.

The Arctic Spirit aims to offer interesting and relevant content by dwelling deeper into themes which are not too often discussed in Arctic events. This is where the Arctic community meets to exchange, learn and be inspired. We want to build the Conference in a way that by attending it you can feel the difference.

The conference is the first major open event to be held during Finland's chairmanship of the Arctic Council and the themes relate closely to the chairmanship program. It is also the main Arctic event in 2017 when Finland celebrates its 100 years of independence. The conference will take place on 14 - 16 November at the Lappia Hall, Rovaniemi, Finland.

Book your place now! Conference registration is open on the Conference website.

Rovaniemi Arctic Spirit is co-organized by the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland and the City of Rovaniemi.
