This year's symposium will be held as a series of webinars held both in-person at the Martin's Brussels EU Hotel to a limited audience and online over two successive days from 1:00pm until 6:30 pm Central European Time (GMT+1) on Monday 6 December and Tuesday 7 December.

The symposium will feature panel discussions that cover a number of topics chosen by Arctic stakeholder partners, including:

  • Arctic governance (3 consecutive panels on Monday 6 December from 1:00 pm - 6:30 pm CET / GMT+1)
  • Youth, demographics and capacity-building: a view to the future (Tuesday 7 December at 1:30 - 2:45 pm CET / GMT+1)
  • Arctic resilience (Tuesday 7 December at 3:15 - 4:30 pm CET / GMT+1)
  • The Arctic as a more sustainable place to do business  (Tuesday 7 December at 5:00 - 6:15 pm CET / GMT+1)

You may consult the programme and confirmed speakers on the symposium website.

As there are limited places to attend the event in-person, if you are interested in doing so, please choose this option in our registration form to be added to our waiting list.

If you wish to attend the symposium in-person, please be aware that you will be required to present a valid COVID-safe ticket AND wear a mask covering your mouth and nose for the entire duration of the event. These are rules that the Belgian authorities have mandated for in-person events in Belgium.

However, unless it is absolutely necessary for you to attend the symposium in-person, we would strongly advise you to register to take part online and to actively ask questions via the webinar platform.

A Zoom link that will give you access to actively take part in the webinars will only be sent directly to participants who have registered for the symposium (this will allow you to task questions to the speakers during the event). Otherwise, you may follow the symposium online on the IPF’s YouTube Channel and send your questions for the speakers to events@polarfoundation.org.

Please spread the word to your friends and colleagues interested in the Arctic. The event is free of charge and open to all!

If you have any trouble registering, or if you have any questions regarding the symposium, please don't hesitate to contact us at events@polarfoundation.org, or at +32 2 520 34 40.
