Professor Tuija Hautala-Hirvioja and University Researcher Pigga Keskitalo from the University of Lapland have been invited to the Editorial Board of “Arctic Humanities” published by Brill.

– Ongoing global changes and needs caused by them are creating demands on educational field as well, so publishing research in new forums is very timely, says Pigga Keskitalo.

The Arctic Humanities series provides a unique forum for Arctic-related scholarship in the human sciences from 1700 until the present day. It also welcomes collaborative approaches between the human, social and natural sciences.

– It is great to have this new international publication forum for Arctic-related research of art and culture. Arctic is a large area and its cultures have been studied for a long time, so these present, ongoing changes can also been viewed as a historical continuum, explains Tuija Hautala-Hirvioja.

The series’ publications are destined for researchers and students in the Humanities and Environmental studies interested in Arctic societies, their history and culture as well as representations of their environment.

Series editor is Jan Borm, University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France.
