As a senior specialist in research evaluation, you work in the planning, implementation and reporting of general research evaluation at the University of Lapland. You are responsible for coordinating the evaluation process and its practical implementation. You take care of the schedules, organize the events of the evaluation process, support research groups’ and research units’ self-evaluation processes, act as the contact person for the evaluation panel and support their work, and participate in the collection, production and reporting of the evaluation materials. In addition, you handle other issues related to the evaluation process.

The evaluation process is led by a steering group. A coordination office, composed of research services specialists and led by the Vice Rector for Research, will support you and be your closest work community. Your duties may also include other research services and research administration tasks.

A doctoral degree, strong knowledge of academic research, and familiarity with international research assessment and evaluation are required for the position. You are to have good organizational, communication and interaction skills, excellent collaboration skills, and a good command of oral and written English.

Fluent oral and written Finnish language skills, IT skills, bibliometrics expertise, and previous practical experience in assessment and coordination tasks are considered an advantage.

Salary

The salary in the position of senior specialist is based on requirement level 10 of the position-related salary for general staff in the salary system for Finnish universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal performance is paid. The appointee will be subject to a six-month trial period. The position is located in Rovaniemi.
