Registration is now open for the 2015 Arctic Circle Assembly, held on October 16–18, 2015 in Reykjavík, Iceland. The Arctic Circle highlights issues and concerns, programs, policies and projects, and it provides platforms for dynamic dialogue and constructive cooperation.








The European Commission Horizon 2020: Societal Challenges, under the climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials work programme, will shortly be inviting proposals for its H2020-SC5-2016 call on specific priority areas.

The UArctic Day provided information about UArctic activities and introduced possibilities for research cooperation and education, and for student exchange. The Day was organized on the 11th of May 2015 by the Thematic Networks and Research Liaison Office located at the Thule Institute, University of Oulu.

Researchers from the Department of Physics of University of Helsinki Dr. Ivan Mammarella and M.Sc. Pavel Alekseychik visited Yugra State University (YSU), Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. They spent few days at the International field station “Mukhrino” collecting and processing data using the eddy covariance method.
