Outbound Mobility (students living in or from the territories of Canada)

 

The north2north Northern Canada program supports outgoing student mobility for students who are residents of the territories or studying at the following institutions:

 

Students who apply for funding must have finished or are finishing their first year of studies and be in a Diploma, Degree or Graduate program. Scholarships will be provided for short term field courses to up to two semesters with a maximum financing of 10000 CAD*.  This includes, up to 3500 CAD for travel related expenditures and 250 CAD/week or 1000 CAD/month for living expenses for the duration of studies.

January 4 

Northern Canada regional Coordinator (regional coordinator) will upload application link to YukonU.ca/uarctic website and inform north2north contacts of where to find link.

February 15

Deadline for students to contact north2north institutional contact to inform them of their interest in applying if they have not already submitted an application. 

February 18

Deadline for all potential outbound student applicants to submit their online application. In the application students must upload a motivation letter and a Transcript of Records in English. They will also be asked to list two choices of north2north institutions they wish to attend. 

End of March

The regional coordinator will inform north2north institutional contacts and/or applicants if they are approved for a scholarship. 

 

 

Outbound Mobility (students from the provinces of Canada)

 

The north2north Northern Canada program will provide a small number of scholarships of 5000 CAD* to students who are from the provinces of Canada and studying at a north2north member institution. Students who are studying Arctic, Indigenous or Northern Circumpolar Programs will be prioritized. The north2north coordinators must send an e-mail to: uarctic@yukonu.ca in order to nominate students. The deadline to submit nominations is February 18. The northern Canada regional coordinator will send application instructions to applicants shortly after.

 

Inbound Mobility (students from Iceland and US)

 

The north2north Northern Canada program will provide a small number of scholarships of 5000 CAD* to students from Iceland or US to study at a north2north member institution in Canada. Students who are studying Arctic, Indigenous or Northern Circumpolar Programs will be prioritized. Students who apply for funding must be residents in the country of the institution they apply from. The north2north coordinators must send an e-mail to: uarctic@yukonu.ca in order to nominate students. The deadline to submit nominations is February 18. The northern Canada regional coordinator will send application instructions to applicants shortly after.

 

*Additional funds may be granted due to special circumstances such as remote travel, more information can be found at yukonu.ca/uarctic.

 

Inbound mobility (students from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Kingdom of Denmark)

 

The north2north Northern Canada will not provide scholarships for students from Norway, Sweden, Finland or Kingdom of Denmark. Students from these countries should contact the north2north institutional contact at their home institution for application instructions and procedures.

Results of the northern Canada north2north allocations will be announced and circulated to the north2north institutional contacts.
